Rhys Michaels is an experienced singer and acoustic guitarist, with an extensive repertoire, that covers both classic and alternative songs, spanning many genres and decades. Whatever vibe you are after for your event, Rhys can assist it, by being the effortless background musician, or the sing-along anthem provider.
I've been playing the guitar for over 20 years, and making it a living since 2017, since then I have performed at Birthdays, Anniversaries, Surprise parties, Christmas festivities, Engagements, Weddings, Festivals and even Funerals.
For Weddings, I can provide several package options, so when inquiring, please request if you’re after the Daytime, Evening, Full Day, or Full Day with a DJ option.
All include several song selections, for The Ceremony and/or First Dance.

I would require a performance space, that would be dependant on the service provided (i.e. minimum 2x2 meters for solo acoustic, 4x2 meters for wedding), access to power sockets, and parking at/close to the venue.
I am completely self contained, and lighting can be provided (Wedding and Private events only)
I would need to be provided with the venue location, where to load in, and where to park, if not at the venue.
Yes, I'm able to play a pre-made set list, or be provided with one to play for you.
Performing for my sister, her friends and our family the day before her Wedding (and also at her Wedding). Everyone was singing and dancing along, celebrating the night before her big day.
The best venue I've played at is Darley Abbey Wine bar, every time I get to perform there, the crowd makes requests, and always goes home happy
As an acoustic guitarist, my influence growing up was James Taylor, and I incorporate a lot of his works into my daytime
Wedding sets.
As a vocalist, it would be Myles Kennedy (of Alter Bridge), and their hauntingly beautiful ballad "Blackbird" is one of the greatest songs of all time
But as an entertainer, I would have to say Queen, and if the crowd are in for a dance and a sing-along, maybe I'll break out Bohemian Rhapsody
I started learning the guitar when I was 5, and took up lessons when I was 7, and carried on with music at university. My first wedding was in 2017, and have been playing them up and down the country, as well as abroad.
I always enjoy playing a party, be it birthday, anniversary or just a get together, but Weddings are the most fun, and to be the person who gets you on the dance floor, singing along, is a huge reward
I would usually arrive 30/45 minutes before the performance to set up, and perform 2x45 minute sets, with a minimum of a 15 minute break in between. For Weddings, I would inquire what you'd be after, and then come to an agreement on times.
I am happy to perform outside, but I would require shade, a power outlet, and a grounded flat surface.
I am happy for clients to request songs for a Wedding ceremony, and first dance, that may not be on my repertoire list, and the sooner I know about them, the more time I have to perfect them.
My previous clients would describe my performances as entertaining, and exactly what they wanted
