I am a freelance violinist with a Post Graduate Certificate in Violin Instrumental Performance and a Bmus Hons in Music from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
I have a lot of experience in solo playing and ensemble playing.
My solo work varies from traditional weddings, Bollywood weddings and many other events. My versatile playing allows me to tailor my playing to the requirement of the event. I am classically trained as well as trained in folk fiddle playing.
Wedding events
Rachel frequently plays for wedding ceremonies as a solo violinist and ensemble. Rachel has a broad range of traditional hymns as well as classical music pads. Clients are also free to choose their own music for any part of the event ie. the bridal entrance / signing of the register. Rachel is also frequently asked to play for guest, bride and groom arrivals and exits.
Background Music
Rachel has extensive classical training and has experience playing classical music in events as back ground music. Rachel has expanded her playing by adding pop music as an option. Rachel has an extensive pop collection along with quality backing tracks.
Bollywood events
Rachel has a passion for the Bollywood scene. She has experience in playing in many Bollywood events and has an ever growing Bollywood music pad. The sets are performed with quality backing tracks. If requested Rachel is able to wear asian attire. Electric violin is also an option.
Other experience
Some of my orchestral work has been with the National youth Orchestra of Wales, Edinburgh Fringe with National Youth Strings Orchestra and the International Regions Orchestra in Germany.
My versatile approach in my freelance work has involved working in the studio recording on albums as well as writing parts and perform on stage with both my classical and electric violin.

Yes! In advance of the event I discuss with the client what they would like within the repertoire.
I offer 1 free phone call. I also communicate through email where I send a contract to clients preparing to book my performance. This is to support our discussions and hold all details needed for the day.
I ask for a deposit and then full fee payment prior to the event. This is discussed in the contract.
There are a range of sets that I can accommodate for.
Weddings - perform on bridal entrance, signing or the register and recession. I can also perform at the drinks reception.
I always arrive at the event 30 minutes prior the performance slot to comfortably set up and make sure everything is correct
Yes. However, during hot weather I will need cover and during wet weather I will need cover. I will also need a power supply near by if backing tracks and the amplifier is required.
