Award winning Wedding Bagpiper who famously played “ like a virgin “ for Bride to be Madonna as she disembarked her private jet in Dec 2000 at Inverness Airport, she wrote about me in her autobiography in 2002 - my claim to fame ! , Weddings are a huge part of my life and each week end I’m performing at a wedding somewhere- it’s a lot of fun and no 2 are ever the same as everyone wants to be different and I like this! The winter months are as popular as the summer ones now , so it just rolls !
i pipe at a large number of funerals and each week I can be heard playing a lament for somebody’s loved one at a graveyard near or far away - it’s a huge honour to be asked to pipe at a funeral so I always give it 100%
special events for example , piping for the distillers , piping with my lovely Highland dancers, piping at beautiful Castles and hotels are all in a weeks work
I love my job because I work week to week with great friends who work in the entertainment/ hospitality industry whether they are management or staff , they make life easy for me and that always brings happiness.
My fee of £150.00 covers an event locally, like a birthday party or a funeral, My fee for a wedding in 2024 is £500.00 which covers piping as guests arrive, piping for the ceremony in and out, piping for periods during pictures outside, piping the top table to their seats for the speeches/meal, piping the Bride and the Groom to the cake then their seats fishing with my pipers toast first in Gaelic then in English , this fee is expenses included in Inverness shire ?
