Formed in 2014, Phat 32 are the liveliest brass band you'll find in Cardiff, bringing huge horns, dangerous drums and sumptuous sousaphone to the dance floor. Performing brassed-up covers and the finest riot-jazz originals, with a line-up of accomplished musicians who are based in the city. Consisting of 2 saxophones, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, drums and sousaphone, we work on the principle that music should be danced to, if it's got high energy brass and percussion, you can't beat it!
We are available acoustically for outdoor events/small venues or with full stage sound and light set-up for medium to large indoor venues. High-brow clients have included BBC Wales, BBC Sesh and The Eden Project and having been the resident band of the Cardiff Blues Rugby club, we have regularly performed to crowds of over 7000 people as well as frequently playing bars and clubs across Cardiff, Bristol and South Wales. As part of our package we can also offer a smaller trio line-up (sax, bass, drums) performing a funky, bluesy, jazz background music style set for more intimate occasions or to begin your evening with sophistication and style before the party truly starts!

A room or space at side or rear for instrument/equipment cases. If using PA/lights – at least 2 near stage area plug sockets. Loading area and nearby parking would be appreciated. If evening wedding/party we usually ask that we are part of the evening buffet/food.
Set up takes around 1 hour with lights/PA, typically arrival is around 1.5 hours before first performance.
Extra charges will be applied for an early set up/sound check & for every half an hour after 11.30pm.
Pack down takes approximately 30-45 minutes but can be much quicker without PA/lights.
