Thanks for stopping by. I'm Mr Wright, ansinger and guitarist based in London. I've been performing professionally since 2006 in a range of acts from solo acoustic to fronting an originals band.
My acoustic covers act includes over 200 songs most of which are from the 80s and 90s with a good mix of hits from the 00s to today. I love to throw in forgotten classics that you don't hear as often anymore but will certainly know. I'm happy playing all types of events and venues from a relaxed set in the beer garden to lively end of night set in a bar, performing between events at a wedding or for corporate events.
I can tailor my music to your needs and what your audience is enjoying.
Get in touch and let's discuss your needs and what I can do for you.

Sound is provided by a combination of the following:

Combined, these can easily provide enough sound for 300+ people
One of the best gigs I've ever played was at this really gorgeous venue in Edinburgh called The Caves. I performed there with my originals band as a support act for the other act that night. The crowd and press went wild for us and we were the hit of the night. It was such a great feeling to have a venue full of people really embrace and enjoy your music.
I have such a wide taste in music, as I suppose most musicians do. I grew up listening to a lot of Motown and I was obsessed with the Blues Brothers films mainly for the sound track. Like pretty much any other kids from the 80s, I loved Michael Jackson and Queen. These days I tend to find myself rummaging through the darkened corners of Spotify looking for fun music that isn't in the mainstream, the charts are just full of the same old stuff time and time again.
One of my favourite songs of the moment is by a band called Third Reprise who have created a fantastic arrangement of Defying Gravity from Wicked in a Funk style. I can't get enough of it at the moment.
I have always loved music, it's been such a huge influence on every part of my life. I can't go anywhere without it. The problem is that I tried to learn instruments in school but teachers back then were monsters, so I failed at violin and was discouraged from continuing with the saxophone in high school.
By the time I was getting close to finishing University in 2003, I decided to buy myself a guitar and a chord book and teach myself. Next thing you know I'm out performing in a covers band, then writing my own music for my own band, studying music at college, graduating top of my class from Music University, and now I'm teaching music in school to give my students the passion and encouragement I was never given.
I love playing festivals. The energy is always so fantastic. It also means that I get to be on the other side of the stage and enjoy other performers and not always being the main event.
I will always arrive a minimum of 1 hour before I'm due to perform. This gives me enough time to load in, set up and sound check. Depending on the venue I may need more time. If there are tight time restrictions for set up, I can be ready to go in 20 minutes.
I love performing outside. Please just make sure that if the weather is any absolutely any doubt of turning, that there is cover for me and my equipment.
I am happy to take requests. If these are far enough in advance then I can be flexible on how many, usually no more than 6 no less than 2 months prior, 3 songs one month prior, 1 song 1 week prior. The closer to the performance the less time there is to learn new material. Some requests may come with a charge if they are above the limit or close to performance time as I will need to change my schedule to be able to learn the new material.
I am always praised for my voice. It's flexible and powerful. People often also comment on how much they enjoy some of the left of centre songs I throw in to my sets and how enjoyable the whole performance was.
