Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

We performed as a 6-piece band at Henley Festival and absolutely loved the atmosphere with everyone up and dancing to our jazz and postmodern style set!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Ella Fitzgerald. Her interpretation of jazz classics are so soulful and heartfelt and her scatting is put of this world! We have many Ells versions of jazz tunes in our set.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I studied musical theatre and tarted gigging once I graduated. My voice lent itself to jazz and once I started performing this genre my career began to take off in this direction. I have performed at a wide variety of venues and events, from residencies at private members clubs and hotels, to high-end corporate events, parties, weddings and festivals.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love playing classy background music at events with my band whilst people are mingling and enjoying a glass of champagne or two. The music is always appreciated an it feels so good to elevate the atmosphere for all the guests.

Do you only perform background music?

No, we can adapt from atmospheric background music, to an upbeat party where everyone is dancing!

Do you only perform old jazz songs

We love jazz standards, but we like to mix it up and make sure there's something for everyone! We cover modern tunes from rock to pop, all with a vintage twist.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes , 2 x 60 minute, or 3 x 40 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside but we ask for a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area. I have a wireless speaker that can support vocals and one instrument if there is no access to power.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We usually put a set together based on the nature of the event, but we are always open to requests if we have a few weeks notice. We are happy for the client to pick songs from our repertoire.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers would describe our performance as classy, fun and timeless!
