ABOUT ME:
I am a highly experienced multi-instrumentalist who performs on or has taught: Fiddle (Violin), Flutes (simple system and Boehm system flutes), Whistle, Piano, Recorders ... and sometimes a wee bit of Backing Vocals or Guitar too! I moved over to England from Ireland, where I was privileged to play in sessions alongside many of the very best in Irish music
Performances have included a wide variety of functions/venues including 5* Hotels; both in Britain and abroad. I featured along with a past Duo partner on BBC Radio, TV and in Play Magazine. I can be heard performing [Fiddle, Flute and lowest vocals] on Gaudete (16th-century Christmas carol) with Fiona’s Legend. This recording is on the BBC national Christmas playlist, was 'Record of the Week' on 3 BBC Regional Radio Stations and was also featured on BBC TV.
I regularly perform for Weddings, Birthdays, Irish Events, Funerals / Wakes, Private Dinners, Garden Parties etc. The Fiddles used are electro-acoustic [looks like a standard wooden instrument] and an electric fiddle - stunning silver/black design (the latter usually for Rock / Contemporary). Both are 5-string instruments (additionally have the low C string of the Viola). I use a variety of pedals/effects - one of which enables me to sound more like a 'Cello or Double Bass! :)
( * a professional internationally experienced singer who has sung all over the world e.g. the Royal Palace of Abu Dhabi, and was a lead singer at Riverdance and Lord of The Dance. Fiona has sung live on BBC One, ITV, Fox TV in the USA, RTE in Ireland, BBC Scotland, Classic FM, Lyric FM Ireland, BBC Radio (2 and 4), - and has performed for top Corporate clients at 5* venues, including the Savoy Hotel, London and the Guinness Brewery, Dublin.)
BACKING TRACKS:
Professional quality backing tracks are used for the performances - most of these, custom made or custom edited. These include standard versions in addition to beautiful, unusual versions of well known songs / melodies - some of the well known songs / music from the charts etc have a 'celtic flavour' due to the instrumentation / arrangement of the backing, many are just like the originals. Backing tracks used have been carefully chosen and the Irish / Scottish / 'Celtic' music usually features instruments such as harp, uilleann pipes, highland bagpipes, accordion, whistle, guitar, piano, bodhrán etc.
PA SYSTEMS:
Elegant, unobtrusive high quality Bose L1 1S B1 PA system (and other gear) provided, but can also make use of in-house systems where more appropriate.
- Smaller excellent quality BOSE S1 Pro, battery or mains powered PA speaker available for smaller venues, fewer guests, or, where no power is available.
Can perform unaccompanied (no backing tracks) with minimal amplification / equipment. Or, with backing tracks through either PA system mentioned above

Required:
- Close by mains electric socket
- Adequate lighting during setup & packing away
- Shade / Shelter (min 9 ft square and 6' 2" high with up to 3 'sides' available)
This is in case of very wet weather / strong sunshine) & potentially heater, if outdoors (Insurance and Health / Safety reasons - and because iPad used for backing tracks, very difficult to see with sunlight glare)
- If outdoors, safe / suitable for outdoors electricity connection (suitability for outdoor use is bookers responsibility)
- Parking close to performance site - avoiding stairs if poss (heavy items)
- Private room with mirror to change clothes / get ready

- 1, 2 or 3 hour performances
- Also shorter bookings for proposals / ceremonies - discounts available when also booking for following reception etc
- Arrival c.1.5 hr before / set up and sound check in own time
- 5-10 minute break required for every hour or so playing (background music will be played during break)
Background / Gentle music, more Lively / Upbeat - or a combination of both.
Usually all Irish / Scottish / 'Celtic' but can mix in other music on request.
Can book for Folk, Rock, Contemporary without the Irish / Scottish music too.
