Band founded by me in 2006. Brass added in 2009 with a full time 3 man brass section. We’ve gigged jazz clubs and functions ever since with a wide repertoire of classic jazz and blues. For our public shows and festivals we concentrate on my own original material, in a 1920s and 1930s style. Our line up for public shows is trumpet, tenor sax, baritone sax, piano/vocal, guitar, upright bass, drums and a female vocalist (much like Velma Middleton with Louis Armstrong and his All Stars). We usually trade under the name Rabbit Foot Spasm Band or Stuart Macbeth and his Band for small group work.
Available Line-Ups:
2 Piece – piano/vocal with trumpet/trombone or clarinet/sax; or guitar and trumpet/vocal
3 Piece – as above, add double bass, drums
4 Piece – as above with double bass and drums
5 Piece – two brass, piano/vocal, bass, drums (or female vocal and one brass)
6 Piece – two brass, piano/vocal, bass drums – add a third brass, guitar or female vocals
7 Piece – three brass, piano/vocal, double bass and drums, guitar or female vocals
8 Piece – three brass, piano/vocal, guitar, double bass, drums, female vocals
Piano can be substituted for guitar or banjo in any of the above combinations. Washboard can be substituted for drums for any line up, up to and including quintet size.
