- Biography -

Luka was born and raised in Japan and is currently settled in York. Her passions are music, art, and history and she especially finds beauty in the glamorous world of vintage culture and jazz.

Her unique singing background started in Nagauta (traditional Japanese music which accompanies the Kabuki theater). Later, Luka joined a jazz band in Japan. She fell in love not only with jazz songs but also the style: gorgeous dresses, perfect hair, make-up and charismatic personalities such as her idols Julie London and Peggy Lee.

Performing alongside professional jazz musicians, Luka’s rich, warm voice carries elegance with feelings. Featuring jazz standards with an air of romance, up-lifting swings, beautiful ballads, relaxing bossa nova and Latin pieces, Luka’s live sets are perfect for occasions requiring sophistication. Luka has performed in some of London's best 5 star hotels such as The Savoy Hotel, The Londoner Hotel and popular places such as Brasserie Zédel, Nightjar and Oriole bar.

Creative to her core, Luka has created a look and sound that brings glamor to every stage. Having graduated from London College of Fashion and worked as a professional make-up artist for 10 years, Luka styles her own hair and makeup for every performance. Much of her wardrobe is bespoke, sewing many of her stunning dresses herself.

In 2024, Luka released her first EP “Isn’t It Romantic?”. The EP celebrates her love of jazz. Simple but sophisticated sounds with a selection of love songs that inspire her. The album was recorded at the award winning Morningstar Studios in the US.

50% deposit to secure the booking and a contract to sign.

Performance space requirements - 1m x 1m for a solo performance, 2m x 2m for a duo, 3m x 3m for a band.

Electricity requirements - A power source (2 x 13 amp plug sockets) within easy reach of the performance area. The performance area must be safe and dry.

Outdoor events require over head cover depending on weather.

Other requirements - Food (if possible), Water, Soft drinks, Parking

Is all of the equipment (PA system) included in your quote? - My PA system is included in your quote. I have PA system up to 100 people for a solo performance and 150 people for a band. If you requiring a more powerful PA that would be an additional cost.

How much space do you need? - I usually require a minimum of 1m x 1m space for a solo, 2m x 2m space for a duo and 3m x 3m space for a band to perform.

Do you have different line-up options? - Yes, available in a range of line-ups including a solo performance with live backing tracks, sophisticated jazz duo (Vocal, Guitar or Keyboard), trio (Vocal, Guitar or Keyboard, Bass) and quartet (Vocal, Guitar or Keyboard, Bass, Drums). Can you provide an background music service before and between your sets? - Absolutely. I provide a background music playlist between sets. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free.

How much time do you need to set up? - I usually arrive 45 minutes before the performance time then set up about 30 minutes before. As soon as our PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance.
