Loveguitar is a modern update on the traditional classical guitarist - ideal for weddings, dinner parties and other events. The repertoire consists of modern and classic pop songs played instrumentally, with options of movie/musical tunes and vintage jazz. The focus is firmly on romantic and feel good hits with beautiful arrangements of favourite tunes by artists such as Ed Sheeran, The Beatles, John Legend, Queen, Elton John, Rihanna, Madness, Spice Girls, McFly and many more!
"It was amazing having you play our wedding it really made the atmosphere magical. Thank you so much!"
Hi, I'm Rob of 'Loveguitar' and I play intimate arrangements of favourite romantic ballads and up-tempo songs. The repertoire focuses on the contemporary hits and classic songs most clients have grown up with and enjoy listening to today. As well as the artists mentioned above, I also have tunes by The Stone Roses, Foo Fighters, Marvin Gaye, Cyndie Lauper, Neil Young, Frank Sinatra plus songs from Toy Story, Frozen. Song choices focus on themes of love and happiness - care has been taken to avoid anything dark or serious, keeping a feel good theme throughout.
Arrangements are perfectly suited to creating a lovely backdrop. They are unobtrusive whilst celebrating the song, interesting enough to listen to attentively and equally perfect for sitting in the background whilst guests chat.
The standard option is for two sets, typically 60 minutes each. For a wedding this can be; playing in the wedding ceremony and drinks reception; the drink reception and wedding breakfast; or for an additional waiting fee the ceremony and wedding breakfast. There is also an option for three appearances if you want guitar music in the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. A wedding ceremony performance included playing for 30 minutes before the ceremony starts as guests settle, playing the bride's entrance music, playing during the signing of the register and finally providing the exit music. Equally if you have different ideas of how you would like acoustic guitar music to fit into your event simply get in touch and I will be happy to work with your plans.
Love Guitar is equally perfect for other events including dinner parties, corporate events, gala dinners, charity events and funerals.
I am happy to arrange and perform an additional song of your choice not in the repertoire for your event free of charge.
Equipment - in addition to the obvious guitar - consists of a single powered speaker on a stand. This is loud enough to be heard in any environment the act is likely to be booked for, but simple to set up and transport, meaning it is no trouble to move to different areas or venues between sets.
I have many years performance experience in a range of different styles. I have a BA(Hons) degree in Popular Music and Recording and have played for clients for years as part of an acoustic jazz duo and in a function/party band as well as a solo guitarist. Additionally I have worked for years as a guitar tutor privately and in schools. I aim to couple excellent music with a professional approach and a high level of customer service and communication to help to make your event as special as possible.
Please note that Loveguitar is instrumental, so there is no singing. Also due to the intimate nature of the arrangements it is perfect for creating a musical backdrop but not a suitable replacement for a band or DJ for a disco/dance type event.

Simply need a power socket I can run my cable reel from, and an armless chair.
A room to change in is preferred, but I can manage without if this is not possible.
Yes, I come fully self contained with an appropriate speaker. Lighting is not relevant for what I do.
Simply directions, what room I'll be in and a venue contact name.
Yes I can provide a pre-arranged Spotify playlist.
Rob comes with an acoustic guitar and a single 1000w speaker on a stand. This means the amount of space needed is quite minimal, just enough for Rob to sit on a chair with a speaker next to him. Set up time can be around 10 - 20 minutes, meaning it's easy for Rob to move to different rooms or venues for different sets if required. The speaker allows the performance volume to be tailored to suit the event.
So many to choose from, but it's always especially nice to play wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions outside when the wether is nice and guests are enjoying the event and the music.
I have such a massive and diverse range of influences that I couldn't pin it down. I'd like to think my love of everything from rock/metal to modern pop to classical and jazz helps me mix styles as I do and stay versatile and relevant.
Started gigging with original rock and indie bands while in school at the same time as doing classical concerts in school. Lots of band gigs followed, then work in wedding function bands, as an accompanist and 10 years as part of a vocal/guitar jazz duo before starting Love Guitar in 2018.
All are very enjoyable, but a nice wedding is always extra special.
Yes, Rob offers every client the option of choosing one song that he will arrange and perform free of charge. Occasionally a song may not work well as a solo guitar piece, in which case he'll advise, but most things can be done.
This is up to you. Apart from the free choice of song, all songs played will be from the repertoire. Most clients may want to specify certain songs from the repertoire they definitely want included, or excluded from the day, and may want to make request certain songs are played in a certain set. However Rob is happy with a client picking the exact setlist, leaving it up to his judgement, or anything inbetween.
Typically perform for 2 x 60 minute sets, However I can alter this to suit your event, with options for longer performances or 3 sets, please contact me with what you require.
A wedding Ceremony performance would include playing for 30 minutes as guests settle, playing the bridal entrance music, playing during the signing of the registry and then exit music.
Set up time is 1 hour. I can also move to different location between sets
Yes, just need access to a plug socket - I have extension cable.
I include the option to learn 1 special song not in my repertoire free with the booking. More can be learnt for a small charge.
Beyond that I invite clients to choose any songs from my repertoire they specifically want me to include (exclude). I just ask that this is ahead of the event so I can ensure its prepared and performance ready.

"Absolutely amazing really was a beautiful part of our wedding"
"an excellent guitar player and created a wonderful atmosphere "
"His playlist is never ending, with something for everyone and was played at the perfect volume so not to encroach on the guests who were mingling and chatting"
This will typically be involve Rob playing from 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony as guests enter and settle, and then playing brides entrance music. He will then play during the signing of the register, usually the length of 2 - 3 songs, and then play again as everyone leaves.
