Lorraine and the Flames is a remarkable ensemble, comprising a 5-piece jazz band. It is known for its smooth and soulful blend of jazz with a distinct Celtic flavour. Some reviews liken exceptional vocalist, Lorraine Heavey, to the legendary Barbra Streisand and say that she brings a unique touch to every performance, balancing technical mastery with raw emotion. Her Flames, deliver smooth instrumentation including Rob Webb’s tasteful harmonies on piano, Pete Roth’s impressive licks and riffs on guitar, Mike Pratt’s lively double bass grooves, and John E Martin’s energetic percussion. Each band member is a virtuoso in their own right, with impressive lists of collaborations with renowned artists, yet their chemistry as a unit is what truly sets them apart. They seamlessly transition from upbeat swing numbers to sultry ballads, keeping the audience engaged with a delightful exploration of The Great American Songbook’s timeless classics from legendary composers such as Gershwin, Porter, Rogers and Hart, Arlen etc, and some contemporary numbers. Together, Lorraine and the Flames create a captivating musical experience.
What makes Lorraine and the Flames particularly special is their ability to connect with the crowd. Their performances are not just concerts, they are experiences filled with a genuine love for jazz. Whether performing in an intimate jazz club or at a larger festival, their energy is infectious, and their artistry is undeniable.
They perform Songs of The Great American Song Book from legendary composers such as Porter, Gershwin, Rogers and Hart regularly at London venues and clients include QEII, The Crazy Coqs, Soho, The Pheasantry, Chelsea, Pizza Express, Holborn, The Sheraton Grand Park Lane, The Bull's Head, Barnes, as well as for private and corporate clients.

We played to 600 people at a conference at the QEII and at an Awards Ceremony in the Sheraton Grand, Park Lane
We love playing at The Crazy Coqs in Soho and we have loved playing for people's private special occasions.
We love Latin jazz songs such as Sway and Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald up tempo jazz songs which people love to dance to.
We have been gigging together for 5 years and we keep expanding our repertoire. The band members have a wealth of experience before coming together.
We love entertaining any live audience whether cabaret, club, corporate or private.
We usually do 2 x 45 mins sets but occasionally we have been asked for 3x 35 min sets
We will perform outside as long as we are covered and the drummer has a hard stable surface/stage for the drums and we need power supplied to the stage area.
If we are given a couple of months notice we can add a few requested songs to our repertoire
