About / Biography

Lizzie is a professionally trained vocalist from the Lake District, Kendal and the 2024 official nominee for ‘Best Female Solo Artist’ in the National Entertainment Awards. She has had the pleasure of training at the West End's famous Laine Theatre Arts and Guildford School of Acting. Singer of the Lakes specialises in classical crossover and vintage singing and offers a variety of bespoke shows, tailored to your special event. With over 15 years of experience, Liz's clear tone and warm personality have wowed audiences worldwide and has enjoyed performing on some of the greatest cruise ships, hotels and theatres across the globe.

Lizzie portrays the beautiful tones of classical music and operetta arias. She combines this with jazzy classics from some of the biggest artists ever known, singing contemporary pop and musical theatre songs with a classical/vintage twist. Lizzie has been performing in venues across the globe, such as 'Max Royale' in Belek where the European Golf Championships take place annually, Limak, Grecotel, Hilton, Sentindo, TUI Sensatori, Sherwood, Marriott, First Choice, Cornelia, Sheraton, Atlantica, Diamond Resorts, Marella Cruises and world-class yachts.

Lizzie has also had the honour of singing at such venues as 'The Royal Albert Hall', 'Her Majesties Theatre' in London and the 'Walt Disney Symphony Hall' in Los Angeles. Lizzie has enjoyed singing with such stars as G4, "The choir" as seen on Channel four, The King Singers, Eric Whitacre, the Morman Tabernacle Choir, the Swingle Singers, Sir John Rutter, Sir David Wilcox and Julian Lloyd Webber. Lizzie is also a proud member of the Chorus of the Royal Northern Sinfonia directed by Tim Burke, appearing with the Royal Northern Sinfonia Orchestra in concerts at the Glasshouse, Gateshead.

Yes, I am completely self contained. I provide my own PA system. Additionally, I can provide simple lighting if required.

I would require any specific directions, parking or loading information please.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I am happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. I am happy to choose the music or let the client choose the music.

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Lizzie's career began in London appearing in various productions and venues across London including at at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms. She enjoyed two tours, one across Europe and the other in America early in her career with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. One of Lizzie's favourite roles during this time was performing in the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, where she had the honour of performing to Prince William and Princess Kate at their official engagement announcement.


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Lizzie grew up watching classic musical theatre films and loved watching Julie Andrews, Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn and Judy Garland. Lizzie now enjoys listening to Katherine Jenkins.


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Lizzie Hogarth, also known as Singer of the Lakes, is a professionally trained vocalist from the Lake District, Kendal. She has had the pleasure of training at the West End famous Laine Theatre Arts and Guildford School of Acting. Lizzie is a classical crossover singer, combining her specialised training in classical music and musical theatre. With over 15 years of experience, Lizzie's clear tone and warm personality has wowed audiences worldwide and she has enjoyed performing on some of the greatest cruise ships, hotels and theatres across the globe.

Lizzie's career then took her on tour around the Mediterranean, visiting such places as Greece, Turkey, Spain, Italy and many more. Lizzie toured the Mediterranean for 5 years performing in some of the best cruise ships, hotels and theatres. Lizzie is now based in the North East of the UK and enjoys singing with local and touring orchestras, brass bands and choirs as a guest soloist.

I love playing at all sorts of events.

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive 1 hour and 30 minutes before the performance to set up. It usually takes 30 - 40 minutes to set up and sound check.

I usually offer:

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, I am happy to perform outside. However, my PA is not waterproof, so I would need to be under cover. I would also require a power supply and a flat surface for the performance area.


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I offer a sample set list of music for the occasion. However, I am able to learn specific songs in advance at request, with enough notice.
