Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

1 x mains plug socket within 15m of performance area

Parking access close to unloading/loading area and parking during performance time

Cuppa available is an added bonus!

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, I'm completely self contained bring my own PA system. Simple lighting can also be included to create more impact.

What information do you require about a venue?

I need to know any directions that will help me find the venue and find the right place to load in equipment. I’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I have a playlist that suits the LIVE LOUNGE style that I can play just before and in between sets - I don't provide DJ services after I'm finished - but I'm very good at handing over to them!

How much space do you need? Is there anything I have to provide?

Depending on your venue then I can squeeze into some quite small spaces as I have compact equipment and no other band members to deal with (unless you want a accompanying piano/guitar).

I can easily fit into anything from about a 2m square space - if you want to create more impact and include some lights then anything from about 4x 2m is ideal. If there is a whole stage to use then I'm also quite happy to take up all the room and go for it!

The only thing I need to you to provide is access to at least 1 plug socket within about 15m, and ideally a hard level surface to perform on. If your event is outside then contingency for rain is required in order to protect expensive electrical equipment - a reasonable size gazebo can usually work so long as the rain isn't horizontal. If it is then a quick escape route is much appreciated! A changing space is useful too.

My smallest PA is very portable so if things change on the day (or weather) it's really easy to move and re-set up elsewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I was asked to sing a surprise acapella version of a Stevie Wonder song at a low key wedding. The Groom had a serious medical condition so the wedding taking place was a very special event for everyone there - it was obvious that it was a very special song to the Bride and Groom so it was an honour to be able to add that something so meaningful to their day!

I was lucky enough to do a tour of the Baltics in 2024 with an Adele theatre tribute show - we played to a 2000 seater sold out Alexela Concert Hall in Tallin. The audience were wonderful but the backstage green room facilities were exceptional - an important factor for any touring musician!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I love strong female artists who aren't afraid to own their style. I'm a huge fan of timeless stars like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf. I have loved discovering contemporary artists like Imelda May, Caro Emerald and Susan Tedeschi. As a singer I love listening to the technical aspects of their voices, but most of all I love how all these artists communicate with the listener - they're real storytellers.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started performing at school and gigging with local bands while at college and university. Since then I've just kept saying yes to opportunities and meeting and working with as many musicians as I can - I've worked with many live function bands, played corporate events, taken part in countless weddings and been on UK & European theatre tours and festivals with tribute acts. Every performance is different and it doesn't matter if you're playing to 20 people or 5,000 - you're always making sure the audience has the best time!

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

It's very hard to chose - either weddings or New Year's events. In either case people are just relaxed and want to have a great time and celebrate. It's the perfect setting for a musician as adding to that feeling and helping people have the best night ever is what we do!

I'm having a dinner party - will a singer be too loud for my guests?

Not at all - from a technical point of view the volume of both the backing tracks used and vocal mic going the PA can be constantly adjusted to make sure the music is entertaining but not disturbing for your guests. There's nothing worse than getting everyone together and they can't then enjoy a conversation over dinner!

I've play countless intimate dinner parties both in private residences and restaurants so have lots of experience at reading the room and setting just the right atmosphere. There's definitely a skill to giving good 'background' - you will be in safe hands.

With an extensive song list I can also adjust the style and feel of the music to suit the room as well - sometimes the best plans need adjusting on the go and I have plenty of choice to tailor before and during your event to

And should you get towards the end of the meal and want to pick things up a little we simply get the tempo and volume up a little and people will be toe tapping or dancing before you know it!

Will a solo singer be enough for a big party?

Absolutely! If you're after a more Jazz/Swing/Blues type night I have lots of upbeat songs that have never failed to fill a dancefloor yet - either at larger private parties and weddings, or music venues.

If you are after a more standard party full of pop, rock, disco and funk then rest assured the professional quality backing tracks sound just like a full band is in the room. Having a live singer then adds that something special over and above just playing a playlist.

I have a variety of PA's that can cover small spaces perfect for pubs and private dinner parties, through to a full 1200W set up that can easily fill a space for 200 people +

Whatever you need get in touch to discuss your venue and event size and I can advise on what is likely to suit best based on 20+ years of party gigs :)

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Set up can be done very quickly - maximum of 30 mins

Usual sets requested are 2 x 45 mins - however longer or shorter sets can be easily accommodated

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area. If the weather is changeable then cover is needed to keep my PA equipment safe.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Generally I build my sets based on my repertoire list - based on many years of experience and countless gigs it's been tried and tested and added to over time so you can be confident of getting the atmosphere you'd expect from booking the LIEV LOUNGE. However I'm always keen to keep collecting songs so if you have a special request I'm happy to add this with enough time.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Lot's of my previous clients have complimented my voice and would say that it's easy to listen to. They've loved the song selection and how I've created just the right atmosphere for them - be it background music for dinner parties through to evening parties for weddings. Check out my testimonials to see for yourself!

How long do you play for?

How long a set lasts, and how many sets will suit your event really does depend on the type of event you're having and the atmosphere you want to set.

As a general starting point you can consider 2 x 45min sets of music - and I'd advise no more than about a 15/20min break between these to keep your guests in the mood you're setting. Any longer and they tend to wander off!

I've done as short as 2 songs as a birthday surprise, through to 3 x 1hour sets for summer outdoor events.

If you're planning a wedding you may want different music and times during the day (walking down the isle/signing the register - afternoon drinks reception - evening party).

How much music you require will influence the quote - so it's best to have a starting idea to base our quote on and then we can plan the best options for entertainment and budget to suit you.
