Kate Ferguson is a singer-songwriter from Devon. With a unique soprano vocal style accompanied by fingerstyle guitar, Kate's love of singing has always been at the forefront of her life.
Kate first established herself in the folk genre, with her debut album 'Sweet Confusion' being featured on BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Devon. As her musical tastes developed, she explored 1920s and 30s jazz, forming a speakeasy duo, 'Hot Ginger' with guitarist Rich Hamer. Her current solo style has retained the easy listening feel of her folk music, blended with the elements of pop and jazz she has come to know and love, resulting in an original and accessible style of modern music.
She has been commissioned for her songwriting by The Box and Plymouth City Council, and has also worked as a session singer for independent artists, as well organisations such as LVM Productions. Kate is currently studying for her MA in Music at Plymouth University alongside her recording and singing projects.

It's helpful for me to have a 2m x 2m space or more to perform, preferably out of the way of the guests!
For a large set up of more than 200 people, I need electrical power.
For a smaller or outside set up, I am able to bring a battery powered PA system.
For outside performances, there needs to be an alternative plan in case of wet weather, as my kit cannot be damaged.
I provide full sound equipment, and am completely self contained. I am happy to provide a simple lighting rig upon request.
I need to know any unusual directions that will help me to find the venue if appropriate, for example if the venue is not shown very clearly on Google Maps. A contact for the venue is also helpful so that I can discuss parking, unloading etc. with them.
Yes, I am happy to play music from Spotify before, after, and between my sets. I'm happy to choose the music myself or let the client choose the music.
