Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

4 x PAT-tested electricity outlet around stage area.
1 x PAT-tested electricity outlet plus small table and chair for mixing desk at side or rear of audience area.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue, although we are not a particularly loud band and have good control over our sound.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Not typically, but we have local contacts we can work with on request.

How many parking spaces to do you need?

3 spaced ideally! We can be flexible, and park elsewhere once we have unloaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Our most fun gig was probably at the Pour House in Ringwood. Even though it was incredibly hot, we had a great time, and it was very nice to see everyone dancing, especially in our second set which is a bit more lively.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Because we are a six piece, we bring a lot of influences to the table, but our collective favourite artist is probably either the B52's or the Stone Roses, and the scenes that spawned those bands.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Our lead singer Ruth sang professionally for ten years as the leader of Scarlet Swing. Our other main singer Ben has been recording and releasing original music for many years, and has been played on national radio. Most of the band were friends already, but the band started through a stranger's Facebook ad.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love playing and entertaining people anywhere, but somewhere with a crowd that's up for some dancing is what we like best.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

2 x 45 minute sets.
Setup/soundcheck time with full PA is 1 hour.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers would describe us as a high energy group that loves to get the audience on their feet dancing. They would also say that we make some bold choices as a band, but that we pull them off!
