Jon is a professional wedding sax player with many years experience specialising as a live solo saxophonist for your wedding, function, party or event.
The Saxophone is renowned as a classy, sexy and sophisticated instrument.....so let Jon bring his saxophones along to add touch of class to the proceedings!
Jon's eclectic mix of smooth soulful classics adds that extra special experience for you & your guests, and creates the perfect ambience.
With over 20 years experience, you're guaranteed superb musical accompaniment - the ideal choice during your drinks reception, wedding breakfast, photographs and more.....
Music has been Jon's passion since he first picked up a recorder at primary school at the age of 6.
He started to play clarinet at 8 years old & went on to include the bigger (& heavier!) saxophone at just 10. By the age of 16, he had attained the highest grades in both clarinet & saxophone, and at 18 he continued to study music at university. This follows the musical tradition of his family, with both his mother & grandfather being accomplished pianists and his great uncle having played Saxophone with the famous Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Purely for fun, he also plays Trombone, Flute & Harmonica.
Music has been Jon's life, and he has many years experience in providing the best in wedding & event entertainment. His career in the music industry sees him perform both as a solo artist and with some of the top function bands in the London & the Southeast. He also works as a session musician with many top recording artists to his name.
"One of the main advantages of being a solo musician, apart from keeping the costs under control, is that I'm able to perform even at the smallest event where space & sound may be a consideration, and still be able to stay in the background and not be the main focus of attention - just as it should be!"
The perfect complement to your occasion!

Only a small performance space needed, 2m x 2m, and access to one 13 amp power socket. If playing outside, I’ll need access to shade if it’s sunny or wet.
All sound equipment provided, lighting is not needed for my performances but can be supplied if required.
A rough idea of where I’ll be playing & whether there are any access difficulties that need to know about.
Yes I have access to Spotify & am more than happy to leave playlists playing between sets.
One of my best gigs was playing for the wedding of one of the professional dancers from BBC Strictly Come Dancing at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London with many famous personalities in attendance.
Best venue would be with when I played at London’s original Marquee Club in Wardour Street, or when I played at the London Dumgeon for Harvey Golsdiths birthday party!
Most influenced by the Funk Brothers who were the backing artists for all the Motown acts in Detroit - onpoolnof fabulous musicians who were responsible for recording every classic Motown track.
All time favourite song is probably “25 or 6 to 4” by Chicago
Classically trained from the age of eight, some friends asked me to join a band that they were starting when I was nineteen.
We rehearsed regularly at a local studio where I was spotted by the owner who was looking for a saxophonist to join his established 60’s Soul Band. I joined the band and thousands of gigs later I’m still doing it!
I play with various different bands & record as a session musician, with my main gigs being as a solo saxophonist 🎷
Anywhere with a great audience…especially at wedding receptions where the guests have had a long day & can’t wait to get out on the floor & enjoy the evening!
I always arrive at least 1½ hours beforehand to make sure there’s enough time to be set & ready, and generally play sets of either 2 x 45 mins or 3 x 45 mins.
2 sets tend to be the preferred option, but happy to tailor times as required.
Yes, I play outside for many performances & just need access to one power socket & shade in case it’s either very sunny, or in case it rains!
More than happy for clients to select songs from my repertoire to be included & I can generally learn one bespoke song per gig.
Clients are always delighted with my performances & say that I get it just right with the mix of songs that I’ve selected to play for them. They also comment on how smart I am, fitting in seamlessly with their event.
