It’s Songs Of The Sixties, rather than sounds of the Sixties, as much of what Joe does sounds fresh, modern, funky and cool. He has taken classic songs from this golden era and given them his own unique treatment, some sound closer to the originals than others, but all are instantly recognizable and will have audiences singing along and dancing if they feel the need to shake their stuff!
Former bass player with Gerry & The Pacemakers, Joe has toured all over the world, working with a host of Sixties artists :
The Tremeloes, Spencer Davis, Chris Farlowe, Love Affair, Dave Berry, The Merseybeats, PJ Proby, and sharing the bill with many others.
He covers some of this in his set, along with hits from others like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, and American artists like The Lovin’ Spoonful, Jimmy Ruffin, The Monkees and The Doors.
It can be a formidable undertaking, working with songs from a time that is regarded as the best in music for so many, but Joe has carefully crafted every arrangement with respect to the originals, whilst giving the songs a new voice.
People who were around in the Swinging Sixties have never forgotten the music, and many since have been raised on it, so young and old will love these songs, and enjoy what Joe has made of them.
As "Jojowails", it the same idea, cool, funky takes on classics from across the decades, 60s to present day, The Beatles, Bowie, The Police, through to Jessie J, Snow Patrol, Oasis and Louis Capaldi.
