Hi there! It's James here - and thanks so much for checking out my listing. In short, I'm a singer and pianist here to fulfill your musical needs, whether they be upbeat, romantic or relaxed. I've got a wide vocal range and extensive repertoire to fit any occasion. I'm based in East Yorkshire/Northern Lincolnshire but happy to travel to you. See the attached videos for a look at what I do, but if you want an in-depth explanation, carry on reading below!
It's hard to get across what you do in a few words and a 2-minute promo video, but I'll do my best to explain what it is I do, and why it's perfect for your event! It's easy to see a piano and think that I'll just be playing Mozart - which is not really my niche. I'm a pop pianist, which means I'm singing all your classic covers (from the 1950s to the present day) but accompanied by a piano rather than an acoustic guitar. Think Elton John or Billy Joel - but covering a whole range of tunes!
Sometimes you might not know what you're wanting in terms of your music. You just know you want music. And that's fine! I've performed at countless events over a professional career spanning nearly 10 years. That means; weddings, parties, pub gigs, theatre shows, restaurants, festivals and a few other things I've probably forgotten - I've covered the works! That's given me an acute understanding of what people generally like and what sort of stuff gets people going. An understanding of the occasion is key to the occasion.
Sometimes you know exactly what you want. That perfect first dance on your wedding day, or a specific list of tunes that's the soundtrack to your party. And that's great too, you can pick from my list of songs! If it's not on there, I'm happy to learn a few songs as well to make sure your event is just what you dreamed it would be. In other words, we'll work together to make sure you're happy you know what you're getting, and when you get it, you love it!
So that's it, all you've got to do is get in touch, and if I'm available I'd love to be a part of whatever you've got planned!

I need a place to park, enough space to fit an electric piano, mic stand and 2 speakers. I need at least two power sockets (I have extension leads but preferable if there's at least two).
Yes, I bring my own PA, and if necessary a simple lighting rig depending on the event.
Any parking information - ideally the best place to load in. If there are any noise restrictions - inside or outside. If there is a covered area when performing outside. Where there is access to power.
Yes, happy to provide a Spotify service. I have a playlist that I've made myself that works well at most events, or for you to tell me as many songs as you'd like to put on there. I won't take requests on the night though.
As a Hull City fan, probably for the players and staff at their awards night. In terms of size and scale, it would be my Queen Tribute Band on tour in New Zealand in Auckland.
The Beatles. The greatest and most influential songwriters of all time. My favourite song to perform is Somebody To Love. It let's me show off a tad.
I've written songs from the age of 5, started piano lessons at 9 and started singing in front of people at school assemblies. From there, it was always something I wanted to do. I then went to study music at Leeds Conservatoire of Music and started gigging there before making it a permanent career after graduating.
Weddings. Everyone's already happy and up for a party, you're already on to a winner!
Arrival approximately 90 minutes prior to start time. 2x 45 minutes is standard, but often I perform 3x 40 minute sets for those wanting something a bit longer. Ultimately, it all depends on the occasion.
Yes, providing that there is an alternative if something goes wrong and the British weather decides not to play nicely. Ideally somewhere covered so the equipment is not damaged. I will need a power source to be available, either from inside with an extension lead or a plug outside.
Yes, you can normally go through and pick as many favourites as you like. Typically, I suggest asking for no more than 10 songs though as it takes away from the spontaneity of the evening and the surprise factor for you on the day.
Generally the feedback tends to be amazing! But I'll let you make your judgement -that's what matters!
