Yes, we bring our own high quality HK Audio PA system and a fully digitally controlled (DMX) lighting set up as standard with every booking. We can provide an upgraded/extra PA and bring a sound engineer for larger events which may require this (such as corporate events or charity gala nights).
Just an address! It would also be helpful to know if the venue has a sound limiter, but not essential as we can sort this nearer the date.
We offer a free basic DJ/iPod service as standard with every booking. This can be customised in advance of the day to your tastes & songs choices as much as you wish. This will be manned by members of the band throughout the evening using a MacBook Pro to cross-fade tracks, take requests & make any announcements on the mics if required.
We love every gig we get to play, but are super proud to have played for the Stan Bowley Trust Annual Charity Ball at Alton Towers Resort every year now since 2015 (expect 2020) .
Before we first played for them, they had never had the same band twice...!
We find the music we play is a blend of Soul and motown (think Stevie Wonder, The Contours & Frankie Valli) mixed with some 80's classics (The Jam, Wham! & Queen), 90's Britpop and naughties inspired Indie Disco. Check out our full repertoire for just how many genres we cover!
We have been performing as House of Chords since 2015, having all met years before and played together in various other groups/line ups!
Nothing beats a wedding for good all round dance floor fun!
Times:
2 hours of live music (split into sets to suit your event, e.g. 2 x 60mins, 3 x 40mins)
FREE DJ music before, in between and after live sets.
60 minutes approx for load-in, setup and soundcheck.
Providing we have access to power & appropriate cover/shelter from the elements this is something we can usually accommodate, but please let us know during the booking process so we can plan accordingly!
Our aim is to provide you with a bespoke service for your event so really there are a few options:
If you want to leave it to us then great, we will use our experience to build a set list of tunes we feel are the best for the occasion.
If you want to pick a handful of songs off our playlist that you do and don’t want to give us some guidance then even better!
Or, you can pick the whole lot & we will use these to form our sets. 2 hours of live music usually works out around 35 tunes.
We have hundreds of reviews from our previous clients and couples. Below is one example, but take a browse through our listing to see more!
"What a band! The absolute highlight of our wedding! House of Chords are so talented, their repertoire is fantastic and the energy they bought to their performance was just incredible. To top it off, they are all super friendly and the communication we had with them before our wedding was superb."
Yes we will happily learn, arrange, rehearse and perform a song for you (at a small extra cost if it is a song we don’t know!) We find this is very popular for first dances at weddings.
With our extensive musical training and professional experience we use our arranging skills to provide you with a version as authentic as possible.
Although we always like a challenge, there are some songs which may not suit our band setup in order to do the song justice (Mariah Carey is proably a step too far!) but this is of course something we can discuss! For context, we have performed hundreds of live first dances from REO Speedwagon to Taylor Swift, so there’s a very good chance we can play what you’re looking for!
