About / Biography

Comprised of 3 saxophones and a bespoke portable drum kit, Hero Horns delivers a unique blend of improvised groove music and covers. Originally formed as a street busking band, this young energetic and talented act endeavours to move the raw electricity of live street performance to stages and events. A perfect addition to any occasion, Hero Horns offer a complete covers set full of hard hitters that will get heads turning and guests dancing. They move seamlessly between songs, drawing from all time classics, 90’s floor fillers, and modern day hits to springboard into exciting improvisations. Whether it’s marching wedding guests down an aisle, entertainment for a drinks reception, or providing walk on stings for an award ceremony, Hero Horns are incredibly versatile and adaptable to the situation at hand.
They are available as a stage performance or an acoustic roaming band, which can be completely mobile while playing. This allows performances to take place in a
plethora of exciting scenarios.

For larger-scale events, Hero Horns can also be connected to a P.A. system, and their wireless microphone set up still allows for a great deal of mobility. Please
enquire for any further details and to find out what we can bring to your event.

Together and individually they have played at venues such as Wembley Stadium, The O2, NIA Birmingham, The Royal Albert Hall, The Union Chapel, the Southbank centre,
and main stages at Shambala, Bestival, and Boomtown festivals. Members have performed alongside artists including Beverley Knight, Peter Andre, Lee Ryan and
Beardyman. The band is comprised of baritone, tenor and alto saxophones, as well as a one of a kind customised portable drum kit, and are equally as powerful whether roaming or performing on any sized stage.

Lineup: percussion and 3 saxophones (baritone, tenor and alto saxophones). Sometimes 2 saxophones and a trumpet/trombone if a regular member is unavailable.

We have played events for Facebook, Google, Mercedes, Birra Moretti, Pravha and other companies at such venues as Wembley Stadium, The National Theatre, Brighton's i360 and many more. We have also played at many festivals over the years including Boom Town, Bestival and Secret Garden Party

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We all studied at Jazz college so many of our influences come from the Jazz greats like John Coltrane and Charlie Parker, we have wide reaching tastes and allow our numerous experiences playing other genres to influence our sound and our music when we play together. Collectively we love funk, disco, R&B, Soul Motown and just about anything that gets people dancing.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We are all proffesional musicians in our own right who met whilst studying together at Trinity Laban conservatoire, we gig individually with other bands, artists and DJ's and have been working in various areas of the London and international scene for the last 10 years

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love playing at Weddings and Festivals where people really feel the engery of what we're doing up close, if people are able to dance, we're having a good time.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We have a long repatoire list which the client can choose from, we can also discuss playing special requests provided we are given enough warning beforehand, the song fits our setup and the requests aren't too numerous/ obscure
