Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I require 2m x 2m space to play with a power supply or socket nearby; a space will need to be provided that is sheltered from potential rain, direct sunlight or very cold temperatures.
Performances outside are weather permitting; It is best advised to prepare a contingency plan if the weather is not suitable.
A reserved parking space would be greatly appreciated.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I am completely self contained with my own PA equipment. I use a Bose S1 Pro System for smaller events and a Yamaha Stagepass 1K Column for larger indoor events.

What information do you require about a venue?

I would greatly appreciate any information that will help me find your venue; particularly if you are on military headquarters. I would like to know if there is a power supply near the performance area, if there are any parking charges or limitations.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I do not provide a Spotify or DJ service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I have played professionally as a freelance violinist, and as a valued member of numerous string quartets and duets from North Yorkshire at some of the most beautiful wedding venues across Yorkshire. The most astonishingly beautiful wedding I have played for was at the prestigious 'Grantley Hall'; accompanied with drones, diamante white trees and white rose petals scattered down the isle.
The most unique performance was at a 'God Father' themed funeral. I followed a processional of white stallion horses pulling a crystal embellished hearse to the graveside where I played the God Father theme tune as they lowered the coffin.
I have worked with HMS Studios, recording the soundtrack for the Polish short film ‘Persistence’, which later won awards at the Los Angeles film festival. I have worked a as a session musician for Silver Bear Studios, recording string parts for an upcoming British heavy metal album.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I have such an eclectic taste in music; I have been inspired by artists such as Scorpions, Nightwish and Iron Maiden, all the way through to Shania Twain, Sia and Enya! I particularly love 'always with me, always with you' by Joe Satriani.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Whilst studying for my music degree and music masters, I gained a lot of experience playing with bands, quartets and developing my skills as a soloist. Post academia, I have played at hundreds of weddings, parties and events across the UK.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

As a violinist, I love the ambiance I create at a wedding, especially as the bride walks down the isle (such magic!!) ; but I must admit, I do love a good old drinks reception and evening dinner party!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally aim to arrive between 60-90 mins before my performance time to set up, sound check and warm up. As a guide, I typically play set lengths of 20-30 mins, 40-45 mins or up to a maximum of 1 hour per set. I can design the number of set (s) and length of comfort breaks with the information you provide, taking care to accommodate the event type.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am available to perform outside, however, I would greatly appreciate a space that could be will sheltered from potential rain, direct sunlight or very cold temperatures. Performances outside are weather permitting; It is best advised to prepare a contingency plan if the weather is not suitable.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

You are welcome to hand pick songs from my set list that you would like or not like to be played at your event; alternatively, with your event type in mind, I can create a set list for you. As my client, you can ask for three pieces to be arranged that are not on my set list as part of the quoted fee. Any extra song requests will be added to my invoice.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

‘She takes the utmost care of details to ensure smooth running at events. I always look forward to working with her’.

'Having Hannah play was one of the stand out moments of our day. We had so many wonderful comments from our guests about her beautiful playing. If you are considering booking her, don’t think twice.'

'Hannah did a beautiful job of welcoming guests into the ceremony room with her incredible playing and then entertaining them all during the reception with twists on modern songs. We had so many lovely comments about how the violin was a perfect build up to the ceremony and apparently there wasn’t a dry eye! Communication with Hannah was perfect - everything was seamless - from our first chat through to providing recordings before the day and then even a recording of the set from the day (as specially requested). Nothing was too much effort and Hannah did an amazing job at making us feel at ease that everything would run perfectly.'
