Finn Ambers is an independent singer-songwriter acoustic guitarist, recording and performing artist, composer, producer and author.
Comfortable playing covers in a small pub, or onstage performing his original songs with high profile artists.
When performing covers, Finn can pare it back to just vocal and guitar, or spice it up with some backing tracks and/or loops.
When performing original songs and music, Finn’s live show is a unique mix of vocals (likened to Tom Waits, Dylan, Nick Cave) and acoustic guitar with strikes to the guitar body to generate percussive textures and beats. Use of bottleneck/slide, bass and looper pedals breathe an extra dimension to Finn’s original songs which vary in genre and style. Ballads, folk, pop, country, rock, jazz among others are all influences which can be heard in his original live material (1.5 hours worth).
In June 2022, Finn's debut track ‘A Part Of Me’ was given a five-star rating and semi-finalist status in the 2022 U.K. Songwriting Contest.
In the meantime, Finn continues to produce songs in the studio. His latest single ‘Another Christmas’ was released on 18/11/2022 and achieved a 5-star rating and ‘commended’ award as were four of his other unpublished songs.
Finn Ambers was born and raised in a small town in the north-west of England, U.K., where he acquired the humour of good sense and an interest in words and music.
Finn started playing guitar back in the ‘80s aged 14 (or was it 13?) and was performing in local bands in Lancashire soon after. The compulsion to write and perform original songs followed, as did engineering and producing demos (“back then, I used a Tascam 4 track onto on cassette tape”). Through the mid to late 1990s, Finn was the main composing force in the bands he fronted, playing lead guitar and singing lead vocal. In the 2000s, Finn’s band landed gigs supporting Dodgy and The James Taylor Quartet, but performing music live took a back seat whilst Finn investigated authordom.
The songwriting and producing flame never dimmed, though. Finn emerged as a solo artist in 2022, and aims to produce his first album/EP soon.
Finn Ambers now resides in North Wales, UK.

Started playing banjo when I was about 8. Guitar aged 13. forming bands in my teens and first gig around age of 19 in 4 piece band. Formed my own bands in my 20s and was lead guitarist and vocalist. Stopped gigging in bands around 2005, but playing guitar and singing ever since. Started gigging solo again in May 2022.
Like all kinds of events, but those where the crowd are there to listen, watch and join in are great because you can really create a good vibe together.
If my PA is required, I arrive an hour before start to set up.

Yes, in a sheltered spot in shade if sunny, out of the rain, and heated if cold weather. Level flat surface and power supply nearby.
I usually just pick from my current repertoire, but if the client wants to discuss set list please get in touch.
I can learn specific songs before the event, but the client must ask about this well in advance and I will let client know if it is possible.
