My name is Ezme, I am a classically trained cellist (Purcell School, RCM) with years of experience playing worldwide for all kinds of events. I really enjoy providing a musical backdrop for weddings, corporate events, parties, funerals, wakes and many other kinds of functions. No event is too big or too small- I've played at intimate dinner parties for 2, and to live audiences of 30,000. I can provide elegant classical music, or recognisable pop tunes with some film/tv and jazz standards mixed in. And best of all, I love learning new music so if you have a couple of pieces that are special to you then I can usually learn them for you :)
I'll arrive smartly dressed, on time and with everything I need for a smooth set up. I am very experienced in liaising with venue staff and finding the most appropriate spot to set up. I'm happy to dress to blend in to the background, but I also love to dress up so I can fit in with any theme you have planned!
I usually offer 1-2 hours of playing spread over a 2-3 hour period; this is totally flexible and can be tailored to your event. As an example, this could be music for your wedding ceremony and then your reception, or three 40 minutes background sets of music. I will need breaks but these can be discussed and confirmed in advance and often can be coincided with things like speeches toa make your event feel seamless.
I charge 55p per mile from which covers my fuel, and time taken to get to you. I have Public Liabilty Insurance up to 10million, and I always have an up to date DBS.

Glastonbury Festival which I do every year with my comedy theatre string quartet Bowjangles!
The two greatest cello pieces of all time are of course the Bach Cello Suite in G and Saint Saens' The Swan, both of which are in my repertoire. Aside from classical music I love playing pop songs such as 'All of Me' by John Legend and 'Make you Feel My Love' by Bob Dylan (and covered by Adele), both of which work beautifully for solo cello. The greatest song ever is OF COURSE 'Lah-Di-Dah' by Jake Thackray. One day I will find the time to work it out for solo cello and voice.
I have been gigging since I left the Purcell School of music when I was 18. I met a crazy violinist in Covent Garden who was jumping around all over the place and I said to him 'I want to come and do this with you!'. I did, and we travelled the world for 5 years playing everywhere and anywhere, on the street, at festivals, in theatres and on TV. Since then I have played at hundreds of weddings and events, and also still travel worldwide with my comedy theatre string quartet Bowjangles.
As a gigging musician I love all the events I am part of. It is such an honour (and a responsibility!) to be invited to play at a wedding as you know it is the biggest day of two peoples' lives.
Corporate events have great snacks :-D
Festivals are amazing as long as the weather is right...
Yes! I don’t mind travelling at all so just drop me a message to discuss. I have my own car but try to use train wherever possible.
I know that budgets vary wildly so I work on a fairness system. If I think that the offered fee is fair on both parties then I am happy to agree. Please contact me to discuss.
Usually I am booked for a 3 hour period during which I will play for around 2 hours with a couple of short breaks. But obviously every event is different and I am happy to discuss and come up with a plan which fits with your event.
Yes, but not in rain, high wind or burning sun.
I have a set repertoire, and I will source and learn up to 2 specific songs.
'Beautiful' and 'lovely' which is always so nice to hear!
I play solo for private clients.
