About / Biography

I'm an Instrumental Acoustic Guitarist with over 30 years' experience playing and performing in a wide range of styles and settings.

Over the years I've performed as a solo act as well as appearing in numerous original, cover and tribute bands. I am dedicated to giving the best performance possible and have a real passion for the guitar and music in general.

Having the right background music at an event can really enhance the guest experience and help to create a relaxed and enjoyable mood. Do you want some entertainment that will impress your guests and create a comfortable atmosphere without being too loud and intrusive? If so, acoustic instrumental guitar music will be perfect for your event.

As you'll see from the song list, I cover a wide variety of styles in my repertoire to suit audiences of any age and musical taste. Including everything from classical pieces, folk standards, pop and rock classics and even film music, there really is something here for everyone.

In particular, instantly recognisable versions of hit songs from the 60s right up to the modern day are always popular at a wide variety of events. What you'll hear are carefully arranged pieces which pick out not only the core music of the song but also the vocal melody line (often the most recognisable part) played at the same time on the acoustic guitar. These unique versions of popular classics add an extra wow factor rather than a set composed solely of lesser known classical music.

I pride myself on the fact that no two performances are the same. Each one is carefully planned to create exactly the right atmosphere. You can have as much or as little input as you want when deciding on the songs to be included. Either pick from the list or just state the kind of theme you want and I'll do the rest.

If there's a particular song you want to include but can't see it on my list then feel free to contact me and I'll go the extra mile to work out an arrangement, given enough time prior to your event.

Please visit my instagram (@eastwoodinstrumental) and Youtube channel (Eastwood Event Guitar) if you want to see more performance videos.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need a performance area of at least 2 meters by two meters, one plug socket and one chair without arms.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I bring my own amplification.

What information do you require about a venue?

Just the location and to check that they allow live music.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

N/A

Do you have all of your own equipment?

I have a number of different guitars and my own amplifiers (large and small!) so the only equipment I would need on the day is a plug socket!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I've played a wide variety of venues over the years and really enjoy intimate settings but I've also played at a number of large festivals with my previous tribute bands to crowds of several hundred people.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I love all kinds of guitar music, in particular classic rock and my top favourite artists are Queen, Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie. I also love instrumental music and currently , my biggest influence is acoustic guitarist Tommy Emmanuel.
The greatest song of all time is an impossible question but Thunder Road by Springsteen and Love Of My Life by Queen are both high on the list!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been playing music for 30+ years and have played as a solo act and in all kinds of bands over the years. My first gig was at a Battle Of the Bands when I was just 17. After my last tribute band ended a few years ago I moved back into professional solo performance perfecting my instrumental acoustic guitar act.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I'll play anywhere, at events large and small! I love weddings though as it's great to be a part of a couple's special day.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive maximum 1 hour before my performance but can arrive and be ready to go within 20 minutes. I usually play two 40 minute sets with a short break in between but am flexible if a client needs something different.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Definitely! This would be weather dependant though and preferably under cover. I would also need a power supply/extension cord .

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely! Clients can have as much or as little say in my set list as they want to. You can choose from my repertoire or let me know the theme and I'll do the rest. Also given enough time before the event I would be happy to create an arrangement of your favourite song if it's not already included in my repertoire.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I've received many comments which say I'm professional, easy to deal with and an expert player with a wide range of songs.

How long are you able to spend at my venue on the day?

Sometimes customers may want me to play at different stages of their event (e.g. for a wedding I sometimes play while guests arrive, then later on play during the drinks reception). As an average, based on standard pricing, I would expect to be at you venue around 4 hours in total. As always I'd love to discuss your requirements with you so if you need me for the full day, feel free to reach out and we can work out a suitable price for this.
