Doug is a guitarist from London, England. A graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire’s prestigious jazz degree course he has been fortunate to study with internationally known musicians. Doug has performed music all over the world working on 6 star luxury cruise ships as well as touring overseas in jazz bands in Germany, Holland, Ireland and Belgium. He was previously a member of the renowned Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra, during his time performing with special guests such as Gordon Goodwin/Eric Marienthal/Wayne Bergeron, Jacqui Dankworth, Mark Nightingale, Tony Christie, Clare Teal and Alan Barnes. With the band he was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 alongside the BBC Big Band as well as appearing at Chris Evans’ Carfest 2013. He was also fortunate to receive the Cork Jazz Festival ‘Jazz Futures’ award, and was invited to play back at the festival the following year.
