Evening DJ set up to 5 hours up to midnight | £795 |
Gala evening DJ with full size premium setup | £1250 |
Hi! My name is Tom and I love making great parties happen, with experience that spans four decades. Think of me as your facilitator of fun!
I come with all the necessary equipment to bring your venue to life. DJ booth, high definition sound system and atmospheric lighting to suit, so no need for additional rental costs! I can comfortably cover up to 300 guests to a standard that equals or exceeds that of event production hire companies. Here you won't be bamboozled with unnecessary things like upcycled pallet booths, because you don't need any of that! Just simple, honest, elegant setups that look great in any location.
The vital bit of course, is the music and knowing what to play and when! My vast library spans the last 7 decades with the 80s and 90s being my personal favourite eras. If you're lucky enough to be of an age to remember putting a blank tape in the stereo on Sunday afternoon, then I'd love to hear from you! If not, then ask your parents and I'd still love to hear from you!
Let's get your party started!
Based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire
For optimal performance and coverage, a minimum setup space of 2.5M or 8ft wide with a depth of 2M or 6ft. Minimum headroom of 2.2M or 7ft is required.
A safe and reliable power supply of 2 x 13-amp mains sockets within 3 metres of the setup area is sufficient for most setups.
Please ensure your venue has suitable loading access and parking for a 3.5 ton panel van for the duration of the event. Ground floor or lift access preferred. Please advise otherwise.
Yes, I provide all the necessary sound and lighting to suit your venue, set up in a tidy, safe and respectful manner. A premium British built PA system comfortably handles audiences up to 300 in crystal clear audio quality, which can be turned up as well as down.
Fully programmable dancefloor lighting creates a fantastic party atmosphere by means of coloured washes and effects. Moving heads on podiums along with vintage style bowl floods are available for larger events. A fully enclosed classic starcloth DJ booth with warm glow LEDs competes the look, whilst blending in beautifully with chandeliers and fairylights.
I need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in my equipment. I also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
Background music can be provided during drinks receptions and dinner when required. I will also gladly handle announcements and introductions as compère/host in a relaxed and friendly manner.
One of my career highlights has to be playing alongside the Wurzels at a Young Farmers' country show back in 2003 in a large cow shed. That really was a fun gig!
I've played at some amazing venues over the years, but one of my favourites has to be Oxford's Museum of Natural History with a T-Rex skeleton as a backdrop!
As a DJ, I have been influenced by radio legends such as Mark Goodier, Trevor Nelson and Dave Pearce with their authority on music and presentation style. The late Steve Wright always knew how to handle a technical problem calmly and with humour. And I've always enjoyed Ken Bruce's dry humour. I've even been on Popmaster and I won!
Favourite artists and songs are a tough one as I have so many. However, if I were to pick an all time favourite guilty pleasure, it would be Video Killed The Radio Star by the Buggles! 80s pop perfection!
I have been a lifelong lighting and electronics nerd since early childhood. My parents were great music lovers and the stereo was always on, getting me into music from a very early age. These combined led to my mobile DJ ambition, which became a working reality when I was 18 in 1994. Fast forward thirty years and I have over 1000 gigs under my belt and still love DJing as much as I did then. My dream job!
I love playing at all kinds of events, and weddings are always fun. Even better when 80s and 90s bangers from my formative years are the order of the evening, along with a few forgotten classics mixed. The more mature the audience, the better, and I have a real soft spot for second or even third weddings, or older couples who have found love in later life. The fun generation!
I usually arrive a good 2 hours before the start so everything is loaded in and set up in plenty of time. A typical evening consists of up to five hours non-stop or around a band's sets.
Yes, provided I am under cover and protected from the elements, and suitable power is available.
Requests are always welcome on the night and beforehand. You can provide up to 10 must-play songs plus special songs such as the first dance and the big finish. Please feel free to list anything you’d rather not hear too!
"We couldn’t be happier with our wedding DJ – 100% recommend!"
"Tom is a lovely guy who puts a huge amount of thought and passion into providing you with a truly personalised service with no glitches. He is a true professional."
"Tom did a brilliant job for us at our wedding. He was really polite, friendly and communicative from beginning to end and went out of his way to accommodate our tastes and requirements, despite some of our choices being a bit unusual. I really appreciated his enthusiasm - he is obviously a man who loves his job. Would definitely recommend him to anyone."
