About / Biography

Cinematic Strings is a classically trained string quartet based in London.
They are a group of professional musicians who play in chamber and symphony orchestras and also teach music.
Cinematic Strings can perform as a quartet, trio or duo all year round, providing elegant music for weddings, corporate events and other social occasions. When booking Cinematic Strings, they will happily work with you to make your event special and exciting. Their repertoire covers contemporary and classical music including well known classical pieces, TV & film music, popular music arrangements for strings, light jazz and Christmas music. They have a vast selection which is sure to suit any occasion, and can also play specific pieces on request.

What are your basic technical requirements?

We play acoustically, in which case,
other than chairs, we have everything we need.


Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

As we are an acoustic group, we don’t use this equipment.


What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

No

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

We have worked with high profile artists, composers, conductors. I guess the best gig would be down to personal taste.


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We have been influenced by many classical, pop and rock artists over the years.


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We met in London whilst performing together in different settings. We all wanted to play in a quartet and decided to make it happen. Our first gig as a quartet was at merchant Taylor’s hall in London.


What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Wedding's

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We usually set up about 1 hour before the performance.


Are you happy to perform outside?

We can perform outside. If we are playing outdoors we need shelter from rain / direct sun to protect our instruments.


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We have a set repertoire list, but the clients can also request a specific piece.


How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Cinematic Strings were fantastic!
Our guests adored their work, and the song choice was beautiful.


What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We try our best to be flexible and ensure your event runs smoothly.
