Yes, I have many play lists that I am easily able to leave running between sets, this can also be chosen by the client.
Best gig was on the Battersea Barge performing with Ronnie Wood. Singing solo on stage at the London Palladium was a highlight and working with The Stereophonics an amazing experience.
The Beatles are my out & out greatest influence, I love the early Mod bands, The small faces, The Kinks, The Who, The Jam and favourite Vocalists would be Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin. The Style council are also a massive influence.
My parents were both musicians, my father a guitarist in bands most of his life and my mother a Pianist so I started off very young playing the piano & guitar. I joined my first band as the lead singer aged 20 and since then have been in many bands and acts through the years.
I love an intimate gig where I can get people involved with percussion, I provide Tambourines, egg shakers, even a triangle for guests to join in with, it seems to leave them with a more memorable experience that they were part of. Watching people dance and sing a long while playing some kind of join in percussion leaves me with a lovely memory also.
Charlie will either do the standard two sets of 45 minutes or three sets of 30 minutes with a total stage time of 1hr 30 minutes although Charlie pretty much always goes over these times. Charlie can also sing to backing tracks in a more Rat pack style set up, you can mix the 2 which always is a favourite.
Yes, I have performed many times at festivals and private outdoor gigs.
I have a repertoire of about 120 songs and a current set list of around 40 that I have found over the years to cater for most appearances but if a client has a particular song that is personal to them and there is enough time for me to learn it then absolutely I will do my best to perform that song, as long as they join in as well!..
Most often, guests say that they absolutely loved the song choices! and that it was perfect for that event and could they book me for their party. I always get bookings from the gigs I perform at.
