CEÒL BEAG is a professional multi-instrumental band.
We are all experienced musicians and have played at many events together as a band over the years.
Our popular 3-person ceilidh line-up is fiddle/caller, bass & guitar/percussion.
For a larger band sound, we can add an additional fiddler, piano and lowland or highland pipes to the line-up.
Our contemporary, upbeat style will have your guests up and dancing in no time!
Alison, our caller walks everyone through the dance steps to ensure everybody has an equally great fun time, so you and your guests won't need to be concerned about knowing how to ceilidh, even first-timers!
Ceilidh Band with Caller.
Disco option (including upgraded PA system and disco lighting) also available.
We know that booking the right band can be a bit of a gamble, so please have a look at our media and client reviews on our profile page or @ceolbeagceilidhband on Instagram and get in touch if our style meets your requirements. The band has public liability insurance and all our electrical equipment has a current PAT test certificate.
We are fully confident that if you choose us, you and your guests will have a great fun ceilidh.
We like to say “If it wisnae fun, it wisnae us! 😃🎵

We provide all our own PA equipment, so access to nearby power sockets are required.
Performance area should be large enough to accommodate bass, stage piano, fiddle/caller guitar, lighting and space to safely install the sound system.
We can provide a power generator (for band use only) if necessary, however this would need to be known in advance.
yes we provide both sound equipment and lighting.
We use a professional 16 channel digital mixer with Turbosound mains and sub speakers.
Our lighting is DMX computer controlled.
We would like to be informed in advance if there are sound limiters installed.
Yes we often play popular songs between ceilidh sets, but find that the DJ portion in more popular after the ceilidh dancing. As always, we're happy to adapt to what you wish for the night. We are happy to stream music from the client's playlist or choose the music ourselves.
We've played a a lot of great gigs, both large and small.
Maybe a couple of great venues we played at was the Trump Hotel in Turnberry and the fantastic Loch Lomond Golf Club.
Most of the acts on Celtic Connections
We are all well used to playing professionally and have done individually for many years.
Since creating Ceol Beag Ceilidh Band in 2017, we've played at numerous weddings, birthday parties, family parties, anniversary events, Hogmanay ceilidhs
That's difficult one to answer. All events are great fun and our enjoyment in playing transfers to the dancers on the floor.
We don't usually mind appropriate use of our microphone for announcements etc by clients.
We are also happy to link your mobile phone to our sound system provided we have a connection. No responsibility is taken by any member of the band for client's phone or device while connected to uou PA system.
We prefer one hour to setup our equipment, however once the PA is connected, we can play background music or use your playlist until you are ready to begin dancing.
We usually play for for a minimum of 2 hours including a 1/2 hour break and regularly play up to midnight.
We are easy to work with, so if you require something different, please get in touch.
While the band on it's break, we are happy to play your music playlist through our PA .
Please bear in mind that we need time to pack away the equipment and instruments at the end of the event, so take that into account when hiring your venue. Normally we can have everything packed up within 30 minutes.
We are happy to play outside, but need to be under cover. There should be a power supply nearby, or if our power generator is required, it should be known beforehand.
We have an extensive list of dances and are always happy to adapt to the client's request for aspecific dance or tune. If we have the tune on our DJ set then it is easy to play it during the event.
We would describe ourselved as an upbeat contempory and modern ceilidh band and that's exactly how our clients have described us in their reviews
