Nicola started playing cello at seven and by the age of eleven had achieved Grade 8 Distinction. During her teens she played in both County and National Youth Orchestras and twice won her local Musical Eisteddfods. She also plays a variety of instruments - both classical and jazz - including piano, double bass and bass guitar. In recent years she has done numerous session work for a variety of classical, folk, jazz and pop bands, performed solo and played in various orchestras and string quartets and trios. As a solo artist Nicola has also travelled extensively, performing on Cruise liners and in theatres abroad. Her repertoire reflects her love of classical music, jazz and classic pop - an eclectic mix but she's found that anything goes when it comes to the cello!
