I am an experienced, professional piper for hire, originally from rural Scotland, now living in London.
I have well over a decade of professional piping experience, as a soloist and in pipe bands. I am a former Pipe Major of City of the City of Edinburgh Universities Officers' Training Corps Pipes and Drums and the McLaren High School Pipe Band and have performed as a soloist for a vast array of prestigious events and professional engagements.
Piping career highlights include:
I am available to play at any event including weddings, funerals, corporate events birthday parties, or other special occasions and pride myself on my reliability, flexibility, and, above all, professionalism, no matter the event.
I maintain exceptionally high standards of musicianship and organisation, and will always be smartly turned out in full highland dress, and of course, with a smile!
Based in South East London
I have an extensive (too long to list!) repertoire of traditional pipe tunes and some modern pieces too. I also encourage requests too.

It will be hard to beat the feeling of marching down the drawbridge at Edinburgh Castle in front of 10,000 people at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. It was so good, I did it every night for a whole month!
The late Gordon Duncan, composer of the Sleeping Tune.
Playing solo in front of hundreds at a school concert at the age of 10 was my first live performance. It was nerve-wracking but exciting and, nearly 15 years later, I still love the feeling of bringing joy to others through music.
It is hard to beat the feeling of playing at a wedding and helping to make someone's special day that bit more joyous and memorable. Funerals and remembrance events generate a completely different set of emotions, but I am deeply conscious of the privilege it is to honour the lives of others through music and respectfully seek to provide compassion and comfort to families in their time of need.
I pride myself in being smartly turned out at all times. As standard, I perform in Number Two Highland Dress - Black Stewart tartan kilt, matching tie and flashes, sporran, white shirt, waistcoat, Argyll jacket, hose, and ghillie brogues. And, of course, the Sgian Dubh!
I normally arrive around an hour prior to the performance to tune up and get familiar with the venue and requirements.
Yes, very much so. Despite being Scottish, bagpipes can be a little temperamental in cold and damp conditions, but I can and will perform in all weather conditions. No matter how bad it is, it's likely I have performed in worse conditions over the years!
Yes, absolutely. I have an extensive repertoire of traditional pipe tunes and even some more modern pieces too. I encourage clients to request tunes that they would like to hear, especially for specific moments like walking down the aisle. Over the years, I have learned a number of requests including Caledonia by Dougie MacLean, Thunderstruck by AC/DC, and even the Swedish National Anthem, so no request is too much!
"Excellent piper no matter the weather!", "Professional piper and a good lad too!", "Brilliant piper, very reliable and very easy to work with especially in very short notice!", are just a selection of reviews I have received from previous clients.
