Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We would need 4 armless chairs, a safe room for cases, access to power points should the venue require us to bring our PA system.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

We bring our own lights for the music stands. We’re happy to bring along our PA system if needed - additional time would be required for us to set this up, so do let us know if this would be needed at enquiry.

What information do you require about a venue?

We will potentially arrive in 4 different cars, so it would be really helpful if we knew if there was limited parking at the venue.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

No, as we’re an acoustic set-up we are unable to provide external music between sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

We performed at a wedding of a couple who owned a Boeing 747 . As the clients were part of the RAF, they had a private aerial show by the Red Arrows and Spitfires (amongst others!) during the reception. Whilst they were performing their stunts we felt compelled to play some of our powerful and majestic pieces - very spine-tingling!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We absolutely love music by Hans Zimmer - his music incorporates strings so beautifully. We are huge fans of any Andy Williams piece we have, and will always try to find a spot during a set to play either Music to Watch Girls By or Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We have all studied music at the UK’s top conservatoires - even prior to going to them we have played as part of a string ensemble - where we studied some of the classics (Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Shostakovich…). To help pay our way through college we would busk and perform with professional orchestras. Following that we each joined ensembles performing at various weddings, events and parties, accompanying famous artists on tour, as well as playing throughout the UK and abroad.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Tricky question really as we love playing at all of them! Weddings to see the happy faces of both the couple and their guests. Corporate and charity events knowing we are making a difference. Birthday parties for the lovely atmosphere and interactions we get with guests.

What makes you different from other quartets?

We’re keen to make any wedding very personal to the couple, so we have come up with a unique way for guests to work with us to make your day really special - with memories to treasure! We will happily explain further upon enquiry.

What do you wear?

We wear smart, black clothes. The gentlemen will wear DJs and bow ties.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We arrive and set up 30 minutes before we are due to start playing. If our PA system is required, we will need an additional 30 minutes.
Performance times vary depending on the booking; generally 2.5 hours playing for weddings (inc. ceremony), longer for private events. We tend to play for 45 - 1 hour with a short break before starting again.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Absolutely! However to protect our instruments we do ask for shade during sunny days, temperatures to be above 17 degrees (our fingers simply don’t function well in cold weather…plus the instruments complain!). If it’s even a little drizzly we do need to be indoors due to the wooden instruments needing protection.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We have a huge playlist to choose from. We ask clients to select music for a ceremony. For all other parts of a wedding or event, clients may select up to 10 pieces. We get a good idea of the style of music needed and we then use our expertise to choose music that will match with it.

We really encourage guests to come and chat to us about requests. As we use tablets, we have every piece with us, so we can very often accommodate them!

If the client has a piece of music we don’t have in our collection we do have various options - we are happy to purchase one new string arrangement (if one is available) per client. Additional pieces will be charged per piece. Arrangements can possibly be made for a fee.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

We have been described as the perfect accompaniment to a wedding, as well as setting the perfect tone for event, with our really varied repertoire. (We’re very often complimented on our communication too!)
