BV Trio performs swing, jazz, blues and modern cover songs to a very high quality. They cherry-pick the best songs from the greatest artists such as Carole King, Michael Buble, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Burt Bacharach, Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Caro Emerald, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, and Emeli Sande.
They perform regularly as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet at some of Scotland's top venues including The Balmoral, Harvey Nichols 4th Floor restaurant, The Dome, Brewhemia, numerous castle weddings, etc and are perfect for wedding receptions, cocktail parties, corporate events, background music, restaurants.
The trio is fronted by Carol Stirrat on vocals (her voice consistently impresses audiences with her jazzy/bluesy style and interpretations); Greig Johnson on piano and keyboard (The Proclaimers pianist); and the sublime notes of ex BBC top-drawer saxophone player, Kenny Thomson.
The quartet and quintet are supported by Tudor Morris on bass guitar (Director of Edinburgh's Broughton Music school), and toe-tapping Keith Burns on drums (ex-The Proclaimers drummer).
The band's wide experience of live playing and teaching delivers high-quality music to compliment Carol's acclaimed vocals.
BV Trio has a professional approach to its music and business dealings. We come equipped with good quality instruments, amplification, and supply PA and lighting to suit most venues. We set up in plenty of time and unobtrusively. You can also be assured that we will adapt to the needs of the audience and our clients.

The band requires a playing area of approximately 3 x 2 metres for the duo or trio and 4 x3 metres for the quartet or quintet.
A single 240V 13A power socket is required at (or no more than 5 metres from) the playing space. It must be well grounded and have 2A spare capacity on the circuit for our equipment.
A private room to change in and freshen up is welcomed, however not essential.
The offer of hospitality, and if appropriate, overnight accommodation (only where necessary) is welcomed.
All our instruments and equipment is modern and ‘PAT’ tested. The equipment provides amplification to match the venue and occasion, and also provides professional quality sound (which actually reduces the need for higher volume and is more pleasant to listen to).
