Safe access to electricity, protection from weather and a carpark close by.
I can provide all audio equipment required for a solo or duo-set up in small to medium spaces. Larger spaces or ensembles may require additional PA equipment.
Every show is different and I try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible, so you can just worry about enjoying yourselves! Chat to me about what you're after and I'll let you know how I can help.
I'm definitely happy to curate playlists for in-between sets.
Probably the shows that impress people the most are playing the Shangri La Hell stage at Glastonbury, and playing at Ronnie Scott's. But some of my favourite shows have been in smaller venues around the world. I've been touring since 2013 so have a fair few to draw upon but one is in Raglan in New Zealand, and another in Basel in Switzerland. It's always fun to play in Germany, and I've had some fantastic shows around the UK too. I just love to be on stage, so try to make the most of the moment, wherever I am!
As a songwriter, I'd say I'm heavily influenced by a lot of RnB and hiphop, as well as artists like Stevie Wonder, James Blake, Erykah Badu and a band from Australia called Hiatus Kaiyote. I love a lot of the music coming out of LA at the moment, as well as the powerhouse of the London jazz scene.
This all depends on the nature of your event, the space and venue we have to work with and your budget and requests for the performance. I'd say my most usual request is for 2 x 45 minute sets, but I can play 3 x 30 minute sets or longer - up to perhaps 2.5 hours of performance in total. This allows for maximum impact and helps keep everyone safe and happy. Generally I'll aim to arrive at least 1 hour before you'd like me to start, to allow for set-up and final tweaks.
Very happy to play in all sorts of places and spaces - indoors or out. Just request that me and my instruments and gear are safe from the elements, be that rain or shine. I also need safe access to electricity wherever you'd like me to set up.
I am very happy to work with your requests for the vibe of the show and what sort of music you're after, plus I'm very experienced at reading the room and responding accordingly. I will happily learn a couple of requests in advance of your show, and if the vibe is right - I can also take a couple of requests live from the audience in real time. This is sometimes quite fun and interactive, if that's what your event is set up for, but I can of course keep everything to background music, or a confirmed set-list if that's preferred. Every show is unique and I'll always do my best to make yours special!
I have some lovely comments and reviews from previous clients - which is always so lovely to receive!
"you made it so special" ... "you definitely added to the welcoming and fun ambiance" ... "created so much joy for our guests" ... "created a fantastic atmosphere"..."Bridget blew our minds"
