I am a singer, guitarist and bass player, with 15 years experience playing live, recording and working with others in a professional environment. I’ve worked on cruise ships for a few years playing in tribute bands and party bands. I’ve recorded guitar for artists on a few albums and also played their music live with them. I studied music at Chichester University for 6 years, in that time I started performing and recording, afterwards went on to form numerous bands of different genres, playing originals and covers. I’ve worked in an orchestra pit on a few occasions, most notably productions of Joseph, Made in Dagenham and Calender Girls. I love working with great and talented people who love music and art as much as me. I've worked in pubs, clubs and cruise ships, recorded with bands and have an extremely professional outfit of equipment that has me prepared for anything I'm called upon to do.
A list of the main acts I’ve been associated with are on my website. It shows how I was involved in the projects and what those projects were all about.

For solo and duo performances, I only require a performing space of roughly 4 meters by 2.5 meters. In terms of power, all I'll need is a regular 13 amp power socket within 2 meters of the performance area. For parking I'll need access to a parking space at the venue or alternatively, public parking nearby that I will charge for in the invoice.
Yes I have main speakers (2x RCF 710) and monitor (RCF 708), also older RCF 12 inch and 10 inch speakers that I have in reserve. I also have two LED stage light bars that I use for different lighting patterns or ambient stage light.
All I'll need is an address and any finer details of access to the venue and also the best place to unload equipment into the venue.
Yes I'm happy to provide music before the performance (30 minutes free, £50 for each additional hour before). In breaks I'm happy to play music as part of the package. Any extra time providing music after the performance will require an additional £100 per hour. Please forward me any playlists you'd like to use, if not then I'll choose something appropriate.
I use two 710 RCF speakers for front of house, they are 1400 watts each and plenty to fill a small hall or garden party.
Not one particular gig, but a string of them. I worked in a top UK Beatles tribute act for around 500 shows aboard NCL Cruise Ships for a few years. We'd perform to hundreds of people in the theatre every week as well as the onboard Cavern Clubs. The shows were always very lively and well received, it was a pleasure performing such great music for people that loved it so much. As for venues, the Isle of Wight festival was a great place to play, fantastic energy, but also I've played various bars and clubs that have been great fun to play to. I've also had fly out gigs to Turkey and Cyprus and played in some stunning venues in both locations.
Stevie Wonder is perhaps my favourite singer, his songs are always a huge pleasure to sing and perform, as is James Taylor, one of my biggest vocal influences. One of my favourite artists all round as John Mayer, he's influenced my acoustic playing and my writing alot. While my electric playing has many influences from blues, jazz, funk and soul, the likes of Clapton, Gilmour, Robben Ford, Andy Summers and many more . I'm not sure about the best, but one special one that's stuck in my head right now is 'She's Leaving Home' by the Beatles, a perfectly crafted song.
I started gigging whilst I was still studying for my music degree, began playing festivals in the local area, as well as local pubs and clubs. Since then I've performed as part of an orchestra pit for theatre shows which was one of my favourite things I've done, being part of a large ensemble. I was part of a top UK Beatles tribute for around 500 shows aboard NCL cruise ships around the world. I've recorded guitar and vocals in the studio for various artists albums and performed their music with them live. All in all I don't know the numbers, but in 15 years, I would estimate I've performed around 2000 times perhaps more. A full list of associated acts and details are on my website.
I love to play any event where people enjoy funky music that makes them want to move or just want to listen to the good music.
Yes, 30 minutes before and during breaks is part of the package if needed upon request. Additional time before and after the performance will be at an extra charge, please see that section on my profile.
I tend to have my equipment set up and ready to go 15-30 minutes before I perform, but I always accommodate if I'm needed to be ready to go before guests arrive for example.
Yes very happy to perform outside as long the there is shade in hot weather and there isn't a requirement to play in cold weather outside that would be enough to numb the fingers, which can make it very difficult to play.
I'm happy to learn 3 songs maximum for free as part of the package. And an extra £20 for each additional song that is needed to be learnt.
One of my reviews from Encore Musicians, 'I hired Andy for my mums 70th birthday & he was brilliant! Catered for a variety of ages & even took the time to learn some of mums favourites which were not on his playlist which he nailed! Would highly recommend!'.
The most common performance time for public and private events is usually 2 hours with a break in the middle, which is often specified as 2x45 minutes, but I tend to play for an hour and then take a 15 minute break.
