Add Hock specialises in songs from the 1920s to the '40s with show tunes from later decades thrown in. We strive for an easy-listening style, with a little jazz improvisation. We have some 200 songs in our repertoire, and play in all combinations from trio (piano, bass, singer) to quintet, adding drums, clarinet or saxophone.

A garden party for John Julius Norwich, with celebs everywhere! We seemed to go down well and were asked back, and played at two or three other 'celebrity' events.
The pianist Charlie Kunz, with Russ Conway and Floyd Cramer as close seconds. Singers Ruth Etting and Judy Garland.
Favourite song - so hard to pick one - perhaps It Had to be You or La Vie en Rose.
I had previous experience playing solo in pubs and later in hotel bars. I began playing my current favourite repertoire of '20s - '50s songs with a bass play player, whose regular pianist was unable to make dates. Since then, the bass player retired and I formed my own group, adding a singer, occasionally adding a clarinet/saxophone and drummer.
Weddings or birthday parties.
We arrive about an hour before to set up. We are happy to play for two or three hours with 5-10 minute breaks. We're happy to do what the booker/guests want.
Yes, given protection from rain!
Yes, we are happy to play requests, even although we bring along a set list. We have a 'tablet' with thousands of songs on it, so we can nearly always meet requests.
Most commonly, charmingly melodious, foot-tapping, unobtrusive in such a way that people can still hold a conversation around us! People have said they enjoy hearing songs they recognise.
