Here at Last Minute Musicians, we love to shine a light on some of our favourite acts in the directory. Today, it’s the turn of the fantastic singer and acoustic guitarist Tim Young.
Who is Tim Young?
Hailing from the beautiful county of Dorset, Tim Young is a versatile acoustic solo act that plays all sorts of events around the south of England.
An accomplished guitarist and singer, Tim regularly performs at weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, and corporate functions, as well as playing at public venues when not hired by private clients.
Tim tells us that he has “a passion for delivering soulful renditions and creating an unforgettable atmosphere” through his flexible acoustic sets, which are tailored to suit every event individually.
What does Tim do?
Having years of performing experience under his belt, Tim is well-known around the south of England for his beautiful acoustic covers, which span various genres and decades.
Tim has a knack for selecting the right music to fit any occasion. He uses classic songs to evoke a sense of nostalgia and contemporary upbeat music to get people dancing – Whether you’re hosting a formal corporate event or a lively birthday bash, Tim has a diverse selection of tunes to suit your desired atmosphere.
Tim prides himself on his stage presence, and his ability to reach out and connect with an audience lends itself to building a great rapport with the crowd and a truly memorable event.
With a repertoire stretching from 60s classics like The Beatles’ ‘Twist and Shout’ and Van Morrison’s ‘Brown Eyed Girl’, right up to modern anthems like Kings of Leon’s ‘Sex on Fire’ and Toploader’s ‘Dancing in The Moonlight’, it’s not surprising that Tim is so popular with his clients.
What do we think?
We love Tim’s raw acoustic vibe, providing honest covers that manage to stay faithful to the songs without losing any of the magic of the original artist – only giving it more of a fresh ‘live lounge’ feel.
Tim’s slick promotional material gives you a true flavour of what to expect from his sets, with great-quality audio recordings and videos that showcase a tremendous variety of music.
Particular highlights for us are Tim’s fantastic rendition of the timeless George Harrison tune ‘Here Comes The Sun’, as well as his take on one of Noel Gallagher’s finest contributions to Oasis in the form of ‘Half the World Away’, via an excellent version George Michael’s 80s classic ‘Faith’.
With only ten out of ten ratings from his last bookings, it is obvious that his previous clients share our enthusiasm for Tim’s covers.
What do Tim’s clients think?
Having seen Tim play a few times in our local pub seeing how well he could read the room I was keen to book him for my mother’s birthday party. Tim changed his tempo to meet that of the garden party for the birthday celebrations.
Tim played in the background whilst people arrived and were eating. After he was happy with taking requests and the guests were singing and dancing along. I would have no hesitation in recommending Tim for all manner of parties. He is easy to book, reliable and punctual. He can read the room knowing how and when to change the atmosphere. He certainly brought our party to life.
