Here at Last Minute Musicians, we love to shine a light on some of our favourite acts on the directory. Today, it’s the turn of the awesome party/wedding band, GlitterBang!
Who are they?
In their own words Glitterbang! are “not your average professional high-energy modern party band”… for a start, they have both male and female vocals, meaning they have the ultimate in flexibility when it comes to choosing their material!
When it comes to instruments, they opt for the classic combination of guitar, bass, keys and drums.
Based in South London, they regularly travel all over the country to play at events, from private weddings to high-end corporate events and conferences.
An incredibly tight band, all of the musicians hold university degrees in music, from various established institutions.
What do they do?
To quote the band themselves, not only do they “play EVERYWHERE” they also play “EVERYTHING” – their repertoire is truly diverse, playing all sorts of material. From old school classics like “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross and “Twist and Shout” by The Beatles, to top 40 smash hits, like Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” and “American Boy” by Estelle.
They split their sample repertoire into 3 separate categories, to give you an accurate flavor of what it is that they do: Pop/Top 40, Classic/Rock/Old School/Disco and Romantic Songs/First Dance Suggestions.
Their fully customizable line up means that they can tailor their instrumental set up to meet the client’s needs. For instance, they can supplement their party band set up with a saxophonist, or strip it back to an acoustic trio with double bass.
What do we think?
GlitterBang! are clearly a brilliant live act for all sorts of events, both domestic and abroad. We love the list of romantic tunes that are included in their sample repertoire, as this is a brilliant resource for any happy couples who are stuck on finding that perfect song for their ceremony, or first dance.
Having the option for multiple line-ups also provides a great degree of flexibility to the client, as there is the potential for both acoustic music during the daytime, and a full live party band later on, all without the cost of hiring two different acts.
Their extensive selection of audio recordings gives any prospective client a great snapshot into how the band sound, with some excellent photography and promotional videos to accompany them.
Overall, we think GlitterBang! are an excellent choice of band for events. They have a great energy and sense of fun, while still remaining professional, as their former clients will attest.
What do their clients think about them?
If I could do my wedding all over again, the only thing I would get is this band – no one remembered the flowers and the cake but everyone is still talking about the band. They were so easy to deal with in the running up to the gig and kept my now-wife at ease. Minimal stress and maximum fun. So highly recommended.
