Here at Last Minute Musicians, we love to shine a light on some of our favourite acts in the directory. Today, it’s the turn of the excellent saxophonist Marcelo Cucco.
Who is Marcelo Cucco?
Based in Hove, East Sussex, Marcelo Cucco is an experienced saxophonist, influenced by jazz legends like John Coltrane, Sonny Rollings, and Charlie Parker, as well as rock guitarists like Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and Carlos Santana.
Beginning by playing in symphony orchestras as a child and rock and pop bands as a teenager, Marcelo has been performing for over twenty years.
Marcelo has since become a veteran of international performance, having played in over thirty countries in venues ranging from pubs and clubs to theatres and corporate events – and even more than a few cruise ships along the way.
Marcelo is confident that his clients would describe him as a “high-energy soloist who loves to get the audience on their feet dancing.”
What does Marcelo do?
Marcelo regularly performs as a solo act at weddings, private parties, corporate events, and all manner of other functions.
If you’re planning a drinks reception or networking event, his mix of Jazz and Bossa Nova will prove to be the ideal background music, providing a wonderful sense of occasion while still allowing guests to chat and mix.
However, if you’re looking for a more upbeat party atmosphere, Marcelo also plays a mix of Ibiza-style improvisation and instrumental Pop covers from the 1960s right up to the present day and will even happily perform alongside DJs.
His vast repertoire includes jazz standards like George Gershwin’s “A Foggy Day” or “Ain’t Misbehavin” by Thomas Waller and Harry Brooks, as well as rock classics like “A Kind of Magic” by Queen and modern pop like Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy”.

We love Marcelo’s diversity in performance style, which makes him perfect for all sorts of events. His ability to switch between intimate background music and faster-paced rock and pop makes him a brilliant solo act, offering outstanding value to clients.
Marcelo’s promotional material gives a fantastic flavour of his performances. It includes both highly polished, high-resolution photography and raw footage of him performing in a whole host of situations – from background music to the middle of the dancefloor.
Happy to learn up to three request songs a month in advance, Marcelo offers great flexibility to clients who want to put a truly personal touch to their events.
