From national youth jazz orchestras to the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, from ska bands to country groups, from Indian weddings to Scottish ceilidhs – Joshua Innes has done it all.
In his final year of study of jazz saxophone at the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Joshua has had the opportunity to work with and learn from the very best in the industry. Throughout the year he studies saxophones, clarinets and flutes with Andy Panayi, as well as saxophones and composition with John O’Gallagher, and has also received masterclasses from world-leading saxophonists like Dick Oatts, Mark Turner and Dave Liebman. Joshua has had the pleasure of performing with world-renowned artists such as Sara Colman, Noel Langley, Hamid Drake and Tim Berne, as well as supporting Liam Noble. An alumni member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland, Joshua has performed in distinguished venues like the Glasgow Royal Concert Halls and the Royal Albert Hall on saxophones and violin, including a BBC Proms performance in 2016.
Even at 22, outside of jazz college Joshua already has a full and varied career. Through playing with bands like The Ska45s, Corps of Army Music, Gleadhraich, Craig Weir & the Cabalistic Cavalry, and the Georgia Johnson Band, Joshua has played all over the world, touring countries like the UK, Germany, Lithuania and the USA, including distinguished venues like the Cutting Room NYC and Buckingham Palace. He has had the pleasure of performing alongside members of the Electric Light Orchestra, supporting The (English/British) Beat, and is featured on recordings with members of Queen, AC/DC, The Libertines and Simple Minds. His performances and recordings have been featured heavily in the press, from his music and performances being played on BBC radio, to his work being discussed in The National, All About Jazz, Piping Today and LondonJazzNews.

I'll require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 1 parking space.
I provide my own PA system unless a DJ and their system is already in place, at which point I will liaise with the DJ on sound needs, so as to maximise space for your event.
If booking for an Ibiza style of entertainment, I will need to know whether a DJ is already in place or whether I should provide my own tracks and PA system. If there's a specific load-in area for this venue, I'll need to know in advance.
Yes, I'm happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between my sets. I'm happy to choose the music or simply play from a guest-provided playlist.
Arrival: 1 hour before the performance
Set up / pack down: 30 minutes
I'm happy to play outside but I ask for permanent rain cover, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
